Scholarship Programs
To fulfill its mission to promote the awareness and appreciation of dance throughout all the communities of Westchester County, The Westchester Ballet Company seeks to discover and nurture promising young dancers of diverse backgrounds. Through our scholarship program we can offer training to all interested students at both beginning and advanced levels. The awards are primarily for instruction in ballet, and also in jazz, tap, and modern dance for ballet students. Scholarship auditions are widely publicized in order to ensure that no dancer who seeks training will miss out on this opportunity. Nearly $140,000 in scholarships has already been awarded to dancers in our communities.
The Westchester Ballet Company Scholarship Program has four components:
- Beginning scholarships for interested students to study ballet. No previous training is required.
- Intermediate scholarships for continued study of ballet among pre-pointe students.
- Teen dance scholarships, sponsored by theĀ Mark Brent Dolinsky Foundation, for ballet, jazz, or tap students at intermediate or advanced levels.
- Summer scholarships for advanced students accepted into pre-professional programs and festivals.
